Be Proud of your Accomplishments! |
Be Proud!OK so MS is making you feel bad, and this knocks your self-esteem and self-confidence doesn't it! Let's look at this from a different angle! You have all the extra complications and challenges of MS in your life and yet you are refusing TO BE DEFEATED. You are striving
on and doing your best! Wonderful! You should be very PROUD of yourself! That makes you a Star!
You are still
the wife, husband, lover, partner, Mother, Father, Son or Daughter you
were before. How blessed are you? You may not be as able as you'd hope
at present but you'll do your best to change that and recover! That
makes you all the more special. You may still be reeling in shock from MS, but before long it'll be MS recoiling in shock for daring to think you'd be a push over! Try to focus on what you can do and what you do achieve with your day, no matter how little or big the accomplishement is. It's all relative isn't it! It may be getting up on your own, seeing your child off to school, washing up, venturing out to the shops. Whatever it is JUST OWN IT!
And Take a Bow! Some of you may take on some mad hair-brained venture, a cycling trip, run the marathon, do a skydive or an abseil. Be PROUD OF YOURSELF just for attempting to do these things! If you pull them off even better! Having at one time been able to get out of my bed on my own, I enjoy the regained independance and I'm proud of every step I take. It's funny because there was a time when I was ashamed of how slow and difficult walking had become. I was embarressed but now I am proud of every step! I Just want to shout my every achievement from the roof-tops. I suggest you do so too! Don't be shy,
BE PROUD of your every accomplishment, no matter how big, small, or
crazy it is. The point is it was difficult for you but you were not
defeated. It'll do wonders for your SELF-ESTEEM and believe me, as soon
as you realise just exactly what you are worth, other people will start
to realise it too!
